Who should apply for the interactive track (real time, scheduled interactions with the instructors): only the students with a strong preparatory background in data-driven computation, statistics, or computer science, with some research experience, and the ability and willingness to commit the time and the effort for the duration of the school. Anyone else is welcome to follow the non-interactive, learn-at-your-own-pace, on-line version, if they find it useful and at the right level for them. No application is needed for that track.
Can you commit to attend the interactive summer school for the entire duration, i.e., 4 hours per day (mornings California time), on Sept. 2-5 (Tue-Fri) and 8-12 (Mon-Fri)? The number of slots is limited, so if you cannot commit, let someone else have a chance. You can always sign up for the non-interactive version on Coursera. If you can commit, please fill in the application form.
The deadline for the submission is August 1st.
Acceptance notices (positive and negative) have been sent to the addresses supplied by the applicants. However, many emails bounced. If you have applied, and not received an email from us, please assume that you were not selected, and use the non-interactive track on Coursera. Thank you.
This summer school is supported by the Jet Propulsion Laboratory and the Keck Institute for Space Science, California Institute of Technology
